School Overview

Champagnat Catholic School was founded by Dr. Reinaldo Alonso and his wife Mrs. Maria I. Alonso at a time in the history of Miami when there was a shortage of schools. Champagnat came in to strengthen the religious, the civic and patriotic roots of children coming in from Cuba and Central and South America. Our mission in Catholic education is based on and conditioned by the Catholic philosophy of life: each person, endowed with body and soul, has not only a purpose in this world but an eternal destiny. Our goal is not mere "law and order" but to do what we can to develop the student's self-discipline and sense of responsibility to God, family, and country.
