WestgateChristian Academy is a growing school in St. Charles County where we serve infants through eighth graders. People associated with Westgate understand that "the school" is made up of a community of parents, teachers, and students. This community, that is Westgate, shares a common mission - to work in partnership to support, guide, and teach children so they will be academically, emotionally, and spiritually prepared to meet the challenges that lay before them.
We recently opened a new facility to house our Early Childhood Center at 551 Salt Lick Road, St. Peters. Our EC staff is made up of trained and experienced people who know what is developmentally appropriate for children - infants to five years old. Our brand new infant classroom is staffed by mothers who understand the relationship between caregivers, parents and the child. We work as a team to provide the best there is to offer to the youngest students in our school. The three and four year olds have academic objectives and follow a curriculum that prepares them well for kindergarten. These youngest members of our school also receive biblical instruction daily and worship together once per week. The new facility is kid-friendly, and designed just for kids their age. The teachers and parents work in partnership to understand, guide, and teach these little ones to give them a firm base upon which to build.
When children enter kindergarten and start the K-8 stretch of their education years, our certified staff of teachers and support personnel are ready to help them soar! There is so much media coverage today about how to fix education. At Westgate, we operate on a very low budget, yet our students perform academically at levels well above predictable results. The difference? We treat parents as children's first teachers. God decided that and thought it was important enough to include in His word to us. Westgate teachers communicate with parents about what is happening at school. With common goals in mind, Westgate parents then support the teachers and their kids in bringing about positive changes - academically, in their character, and in their knowledge of God's love for them. This combination of involved, caring staff and parents makes an environment where students in K-8 are supported in their development and growth at home and at school by capable people who love them.
The St. Charles County community has recognized the quality of our school by awarding us with recognition for being the #1 Private Elementary and Secondary School in St. Peters for the past three years running. In addition, our first grade teacher, Mrs. Denise Kubik, was recognized with the 2011 ABLE Excellence in Education Award by the St. Charles County Alliance of Business, Learning and Education (ABLE). Our school achieved accreditation in its first year of operation, and as years go by, continues to live up to the goal of sustained improvement.
Our elementary campus is located at 1913 Trade Center Dr., St. Peters, and our middle school campus is located at 600 Salt Lick Rd., St. Peters, in the Mid Rivers Adventist Church. Our school is non-denominational and not affiliated with any church. At all age levels, we teach the truth of the Bible but leave doctrinal questions that arise from our students to be answered by their parents.
We welcome anyone to join us for a tour of our buildings and a chat with the principal and/or parents who have their children at Westgate now. We want parents who are interested in Christian education to know what an unusual and exceptional, educational environment is available to their children. Parents who wish to be involved in their children's school have many opportunities to participate.
