The Vanguard School, for students ages 5-18, and the Vanguard Transition Center, for ages 18-21, serve young people with exceptionalities including autism spectrum disorders, neurological impairment and related social-emotional difficulties. The School provides comprehensive special education services with a unique focus on the individual student and his or her readiness for life. Classes are small, individualized and flexibly grouped. The Vanguard Transition Center extends Vanguard’s learning-for-life philosophy and offers students ages 18-21 support as they pursue post-secondary education, career development or vocational and life skills. Students receive continuing education, counseling, self-advocacy training, therapies and career experience. Vanguard’s innovative K-12 and post-secondary education has resulted in measurable success for graduates.
