St. Edward provides a high quality, faith-based education to children from three-year old preschool through eighth grade. Academic excellence is enhanced by enrichment activities and a strong community environment that helps our students develop into well rounded individuals. St. Edward School is administered by the Dominican Sisters of Springfield, Illinois who maintain a residence adjacent to the school. Founded in 1910 with 200 students, St. Edward currently has 380 students enrolled, who hail from Mayfair and many of its surrounding neighborhoods including Old Irving Park, Albany Park and Portage Park. St. Edward School is located on the Northwest side of Chicago near Montrose Avenue and the Kennedy Expressway. The school makes its home in the Mayfair neighborhood on Sunnyside Avenue between Kostner and Lowell Avenues. We are a community rooted in faith and supported by St. Edward Parish and school families. Commissioned by Jesus to spread the Good News, we empower our students to serve one another and the global community. We provide a solid educational foundation enhanced by the arts. We instill a passion for lifelong learning, and we form committed Catholics who care for the earth and work for peace and justice in our diverse and ever-changing world.
