Charterhouse School provides an array of innovative educational services for students enrolled in the United Methodist Family Services Residential Treatment and Therapeutic Day School programs. The curriculum is aligned with the Virginia Standards of Learning. Learning is individualized, fun, challenging, and experiential. Youth with negative educational experiences can develop positive self-images and a strong vision for the future. The goal of Charterhouse is to give students the academic and social skills they need to re-enter the public schools. While emphasizing individual needs, the curriculum is designed to promote cooperative learning. The curriculum also allows students to undertake independent study, which may include online classes for high school credit.
