Bethesda Lutheran School was established in 1952 as a Christian school with the main purpose of giving children a quality "Christ-centered" education. The school initially served the children of the parish and then expanded over time to serve the needs of the community. A curriculum of Bible stories, language arts, pre-reading and early mathematic concepts is followed. Daily free play and large motor skills time. A child must reach the age of three years before September l to be enrolled in the three-year-old preschool program, and must reach the age of four years before being enrolled in the four-year-old preschool program. As per state law, a child must reach the age of five years before September l to be enrolled in Kindergarten. Academic testing may be required to aid in determining Kindergarten readiness. The curriculum includes Christian religion and weekly worship, language arts, reading, mathematics, science, social studies, fine arts, music, physical education and Spanish. Enrollment in grades 1-8 is contingent upon successful completion of the prior grade. Academic testing may be required to aid in determining grade placement. Parents will be asked to sign a written request for the transfer of all school records from the previous school, including the most recent report card and most recent achievement test results.
