Overview

Corryville Catholic follows the Archdiocese of Cincinnati policy for technology standards and competencies. At Corryville Catholic technology is a tool used to supplement the school's academic curriculum and to give our students the skills to be productive in society. Technology includes the use of computers, scanners, microscopes, and various software applications. Corryville Catholic has a new self contained computer room located on the third floor with eleven desktop computers equipped with Windows XP and MS Office. MS Office 2007 suite includes Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Publisher. Students will learn how to conduct relevant web based research, word processing, spreadsheet analysis, presentation graphics, and basic computer skills. Additionally the computers have flat panel monitors and are photographic and video capable. The use of the computer room is primarily for grades 5 through 8. In addition to the dedicated computer room, teachers have computers in classrooms to accommodate student needs. Also, each teacher has a desktop computer for instructional and research use. Further, the school has 3 classrooms equipped with SmartBoards. SmartBoards function as electronic blackboards allowing the teacher to present interactive video and web information relevant to the school curriculum. Students can work off the SmartBoards, and teachers can use this information to facilitate and assess student comprehension.
