Cluny School has a long and distinguished history in Newport County. In 1953, at the invitation of the Bishop of Providence, the Sisters of St. Joseph of Cluny established their first Provincial House and Novitiate in the United States. The Provincial House is located on Brenton Road, in Newport, Rhode Island, across the street from the Arthur Curtis James Estate, which was deeded to the Diocese of Providence in 1941. Cluny School offers Christian values and quality education in a warm, nurturing environment. There is one of each grade Pre-k through 8. The average class size for K through 8 is 20 students. Pre-k is limited to 12 students. Both kindergarten and Pre-K have full-time assistants. We provide each student with an excellent academic and spiritual foundation to be successful in today
